Well, I must have a really loud noid voice (no, avoid), plus I'm getting old. The only snaps I will consider are bull snaps. They are the only ones that have never let me down. My ring is 8' high (big sausage-shaped hockey net bags) and a real struggle to lift the bag enough to get that tie string up over that hook. I attached the snap permanently to the rope and ran it up through a pulley attached to an open screw-in hook, then over to another pulley directly above a cleat. I drag the net in on a toboggan, hook comes down to the bag on the floor, then pull up and tie to the cleat. Just got it done and am very pleased, but can see myself graduating to a ratcheting system in the future. If I get too old to have horses anymore, I'm NOT going to be a happy camper at all! LOL! 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

SMHN thrown pillow style is actually preferred by my horses over the round bale. For a while they had the choice. One of my horses is afraid of clanking cans in a bag so when the round bale was finished, I tied a small bag with tuna cans to one end of the pillow. One horse snorted, checked it out and settled in to dining. The other horses snorted and huffed and didn't know what to make of it. He soon realized that if he wanted to appease his hunger he'd better get used to the bag of cans. He figured out how to get hay without moving the cans but the other horse would sometimes grab the net and fling it a few feet. The snorting and huffing would begin all over again but at least he stood his ground. 2  out of 2 found this valuable. Do you?
