Here's a suggestion to try if you want to find out whether your horse can pull hay from the smaller holes in
a webbing hay bag or small-mesh hay net.
If you have access to a basketball hoop net, try tying the bottom
row closed, stuffing it with hay, and offer it by hand, holding it by the long loops made for the hoop top. Then you
should be able to get a good idea of whether a 2" hole will work for your horse. I'm hoping to hear how this works
for a horse with no incisors, whose owner is considering getting a Nibblenet for him.

I tried the concept tonight, and found that the polyester knots shift more than I would like, but it should work as
a test device. I also tied an additional knot in the long loops, and tied those together into more 2" squares. Then
I closed the top with a small quick link for the picture.

In case you're curious, that's about 1.5 pounds of hay hanging there.
